Congregation Bais Medrash Synagogue, New York

The rotated plan allowed for maximizing the building size, given the zoning setback requirements for the irregular-shaped property, while at the same time reducing the apparent scale of the 8000-square-foot synagogue in a residential neighborhood.

Built for an orthodox congregation, men and women have separate entrances, and the 20-foot high main sanctuary is overlooked by a women's mezzanine on two sides.
